Why
Answering a simple question such as “what is going on with this task and why is it stuck?” used to mean piecing it together from several tabs. Now the state and the reason are always on the first screen, and everything else is a section that appears only when there is something in it.
How it works
One window
A task opened over the board and a task on its own page are the same window. The row with the key and actions and the status bar do not scroll away.
Status and next step always come as a pair
The next step leads to the nearest column to the right on the board. Cancelling is a separate action, not a “next step”.
The reason is visible before you click
The status menu lists only the allowed transitions and marks which one is the next step and which is a move back. A closed transition explains why right away: the blocker has not reached the required column yet, there are open subtasks, or an assignee, a comment or a required field is missing. You see the same text after an attempt.
One attention message
If a task is waiting for a reaction, there is a single message at the top, the most important one: the agent is waiting for an answer, the step is blocked, the task was sent back, the agent has stopped. Finished and archived tasks stay quiet.
Fields come from the task type
Under the title are all the fields the task type has, even empty ones, in the order set in the type’s settings.
Sections with counters
Description and Activity are always there. “Code” appears when Git is connected, “Agent” when an agent is working on the task; subtasks, links, attachments, chats and time tracking appear when there is something to show.
“Done” is a column
Whether a task is finished is decided by the Done column on the board, not by the name of a status. That column can hold as many statuses as you like.
Good to know
- An archived task opens read-only, with an “Unarchive” button. A cancelled one can be “Returned to work”.
- The “Chats” section shows only the conversations you take part in.

Smaller improvements
- The reason a task is blocked is visible right in the task window.
- Time on a board card is shown as a mini timeline and a single number.
- While loading, the page shows a skeleton instead of an empty screen.
