“When, if, then” automations with a log

Project rules decide where a new task goes and what to do with it: assign, raise the priority, fill in a field, notify. The log shows what each rule actually did.

Why

An automation nobody trusts is worse than manual work. That is why every rule has a run log, and there are no chains or loops by design.

How it works

  1. One screen

Placement rules, rules with actions and workflow transition actions, all together.

  2. When

Only when a task is created, or when it is created and when the field the rule depends on changes.

  3. If

Up to 10 conditions per rule: equals, greater or less than, contains, before or after a date, empty and so on, over system and your own fields.

  4. Then

A placement rule decides where the task lives: board, backlog or unchanged. A rule with actions runs up to 5 actions in order.

  5. No chains

Actions run once per event: a field changed by a rule does not trigger another pass.

  6. Log and self-protection

The log shows what the rule did and to which task. A rule that refers to a deleted field becomes invalid and is paused.

  7. Global pause

One switch for the whole workspace stops the automations that change tasks.

Good to know

  • Up to 100 rules per project.
